Although I have a full time job, house payment and other various responsibilities I refuse to act like a grown up. I work around teenagers all day, which is sometimes enough to drive me crazy, but I sometimes think I am truly among my people.
I love spending time with my friends and family. Four years ago I moved back to my hometown, and two years ago my husband and I bought a house less than 2 miles from my parents. This is a year of big changes in my family. My youngest two siblings (brother and sister)moved away to college and I miss them greatly. Sis #2 is preggo and we are all very excited for her. (She lives too far away for random frequent visitswhich is probable good, but I get to see her every couple of weeks. ) My husband is juggling multiple jobs.
I thought that moving back home I would run into friends and be able to rekindle friendships. I never see anyone I know - it's a growing town. One of my closest friends lives close by and we can't get together because of busy schedules.
Most of my close friends live far away. Today we got a package from Michigan. S&J sent us a box of chocolate covered dried cherries (so yummy) and a T-shirt. We only get to see them every other summer and I miss them greatly. They ruined us on finding great friends. We now expect our friends to call and ask things like, "We are coming to your house for a dinner and movie, would you like to join us?" Good friends are hard to find.
